For the first time in its history, this year\u2019s YIC will be held virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Youth Innovation Challenge 2021 \u2013 spearheaded by the Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) \u2013 is the second iteration YIC, inaugurated in September 2019. That event brought together 735 leaders from both public and private high schools around the archipelago, coming from 58 public schools, 12 private schools, and 4 homeschool communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YIC 2021 is the leading innovation challenge for high schoolers in the Philippines. The timely theme for 2021 is \u201cInnovation in the New Normal\u201d. &nbsp;The two-day event consists of a plenary session with resource speakers from leading trailblazers in different fields. Participants will get to hear from industry leaders representing the 8 Multiple Intelligences from Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner\u2019s Multiple Intelligence Framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Headlining YIC 2021 are leading industry pioneers, including Nexus Innovation Labs\u2019 Jay Jaboneta, Insight Supply Chain Solutions CEO and Co-Founder Pierre Angelo Curay, and Founder and CEO of Podcast Network Asia Ron Baetiong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Challenge mentors include QBO Innovation Hub Director Katrina Chan, who will talk about creating new opportunities for startups in the new normal; Good Banda\u2019s Stanley Seludo, who will discuss supporting artists and musicians despite the challenges of a world in lockdown; and Olympian Akiko Thomson, Olympian swimmer and journalist, who will tackle the challenges of physical health and well-being at home. These speakers, among others, will grace the virtual stage and share their knowledge with our student-leaders and their mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The virtual innovation conference is part of MI@25, a celebration of 25 years of Multiple Intelligence International School.
